Dr. Ali Reza Montazemi

Dr. Ali Reza Montazemi is a Professor of Information Systems and SAP-University Alliance Coordinator at the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University. He received his M.Sc. from the University of Southampton (England) and his Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo (Canada). He is a Distinguished Member of the Association for Information Systems.

Research and Notable Accomplishments

His interests include knowledge management, computer-mediated communication systems, social networks, business process design and the adoption of AI. He has published over 120 scientific articles, one textbook, three monographs, and five software packages including tools for adopting AI. His publications have appeared in journals and conference proceedings, including Journal of Management Information Systems, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Information & Management, Communications of the ACM, Decision Support Systems, and International Conference on Information Systems. 

Administrative Positions

Dr. Montazemi has served on the editorial board of European Journal of Information Systems, International Journal of Electronic Government Research, Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences, and others, and has co-chaired Americas Conference on Information Systems. 

Consulting, Grants, and Other Recognitions

His research has been supported by grants from Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, Canadian International Development Agency, Ontario Research Network on Electronic Commerce, Medical Research Council of Canada, Manufacturing Research Corporation of Ontario, and Ontario Centres of Excellence. 

Professor Montazemi has a diverse corporate teaching experience, industrial research and consulting in Canada, U.S.A., South-East Asia, Europe, and Middle East.
